Broadstreet RFC will hold their annual 'Faz Fest' fundraiser on Saturday 21st February at the Ivor Preece Field in Binley Woods. The 1st Team will be playing National League Two North opponents from Cheshire, Caldy RFC, whilst local rivals will play the club’s other sides in a Festival of Rugby.
Previous events in memory of Andy Farrington, whose nickname was Fazza, have raised thousands of pounds for local charities. This year, however, the emphasis is on future generations of rugby players, with proceeds being utilised in a new initiative to help fund the progression of Broadstreet’s Mini & Junior and community sections.
With this in mind, there will be a number of fundraising events throughout the day, including a Pre-match Meal, a Raffle and a Club Social after the game, culminating in a Disco the whole club is invited to attend. The Menu for the Pre-match Meal is: -
After the Festival of Rugby has concluded, the Raffle will be drawn - Prizes will include Signed Professional Rugby Shirts, Match Tickets, Hotel Accommodation, Restaurant Meals for Two and a Luxury Food Hamper (Any extra prizes kindly donated would be greatly appreciated. Please call Luke on 07817 573 913).
In the evening the club is inviting all its members to attend a traditional Broadstreet Disco to cap off another Festival of Fundraising. ‘Faz Fest’ socials in previous years have seen the appearance of skinny Elvis, an extrovert beaver (still looking for its missing head?) and no doubt, some terrible Karaoke. Tickets will be £5 with all proceeds going towards the day’s total fundraising figure.
Andy Farrington was a Coventry Rugby and Broadstreet hooker, who died in November 2009 aged 52 after a courageous battle against cancer. His contribution to Coventry Rugby was given freely and wholeheartedly and it is with great respect that Broadstreet honours his name with the 5th annual Faz Fest. Please come down and join us.
