Spring Clean at the Street on 11th July.
‘The Great Broadstreet Clean-up’ event is being spearheaded by Street’s M&J Section on Saturday 11th July 2015 at the Rugby Road Clubhouse. Everyone that can, should come along to the club to help out. Don’t just leave it to others. Your time and effort will be greatly appreciated for the benefit of all of us.
Not only will it spruce up the club and make it a better place to be in and around, but it will give everyone an opportunity to meet other players and members, even officials, who they might not ordinarily rub shoulders with.
Some years ago, a few volunteers gathered at the club to attend a morning of cleaning and tidying of the clubhouse building and surrounding areas with tending to potted plants & hanging baskets, litter picking, jet washing, sweeping/cleaning and lawn edging duties etc. It was enjoyed by everyone involved with many feeling a real sense of achievement. It was a great success and a repeat would be most welcome.
Most agree that we have a very special clubhouse and fantastic facilities - Let’s keep them that way. Let’s make it a whole club effort!
Please spare a few hours by coming down to the club from 10:00 am on 11th July to help maintain what is our pride and joy. Please don’t keep this to yourself, as we’d be delighted if you would let other supporters, friends and relations know. They’re all invited. Even if you can only make it for an hour, please do make the effort to join us and get involved.
If it’s a really hot and sunny day, a dollop or two of sun cream and a wide-brimmed hat, might be the order of the day.
PS. You might also consider bringing with you items like garden gloves and safety glasses and tools like spades or forks or secateurs or buckets or paint brushes or brooms or brushes and pans. Whatever you think is appropriate – we’ll try to accommodate you all.
