Tourist numbers for the trip to Perpignan over the first weekend in May have swelled to 31 since the Christmas break as more and more of us realise that we need a reason to get away from the wife, kids, mother-in-law, decorating and gardening chores, shopping trips, etc. with the regular season finishing the weekend before and leaving us limited excuses to head up to Rugby Road.
The other good news is that we have sufficient playing members to put out a side for a friendly match against local opposition, meaning that we will play a game and watch a professional game over the weekend that we’re away.
There is still an opportunity to join the tour but with flight costs increasing and a real need to finalise numbers for the hotel booking and one or two other things, time is of the essence.
