Beat those winter fuel bills with Conversion Zone
The Rugby Football Union has plugged in to independent price comparison and switching service uSwitch.com to offer rugby clubs across England hard cash.
Participating clubs can receive money for every one of their supporters who switches to a cheaper household energy supplier through a dedicated website - the Conversion Zone at www.uswitch.com/rfu
The club supporter selects their club from a drop-down list, finds a cheaper supplier and switches. Not only do they cut their bills and save themselves money - up to £425 for switching their household energy - their club earns a cash reward too.
For example if 100 club members complete an energy switch, and then get 2 people they know each to switch their energy and nominate the club for the cash reward - that's 300 switches. And that's a total of £3,789* for the club to spend on whatever they need the most. (*Based on an average cash reward of £12.89 for a single energy switch).
All funds are pooled and then distributed by the RFU and clubs can then choose what to spend the cash on, with many expected to use it to buy new kit or training equipment.
There is no upper limit on the amount of money clubs can raise through the programme and it's completely free. There are no contracts for clubs to sign and nothing to pay to make a switch. Clubs who are interested should contact the RFU's agency Dair (esther@dair.net ) for more information.

Prizes galore for clubs in Grand Draw
Over 600 clubs and schools are already taking part in this year’s Grand Draw. And there is plenty of time for others to get involved as the draw itself does not take place until March 30, 2010 - more than two months of selling time to go.
With 40 great prizes in the main Draw, (including a top prize of £10,000, plus a host of special prizes for clubs, schools and women’s clubs), selling tickets could not be easier. Remember there is no cost and no risk to your club or school.
So if you are in need of funds for any purpose (you receive 90 per cent of all money raised) just contact grand.draw@therfu.com to find out more.

Reward your real rugby heroes
Looking for a way to reward your school then this is for you….
Daily Mail RBS Schools Real Rugby Heroes Award. The Daily Mail and Schools’ Cup partner RBS is looking for real rugby schools heroes.
Not the players who score the tries or the coaches who guide the first XV to glory, but those who beaver away in the background, largely unheralded, for rugby and their school.
Be it coaching the fourth XV, driving the minibus for the Under 15s or even supplying sustenance from the tea urn on wintry afternoons – all those who make invaluable contributions to the game could be contenders for the new RBS Daily Mail Schools Real Rugby Heroes Award. Our winners will receive:
- Two tickets to a RBS Six Nations game at Twickenham in February against Wales or Ireland
- A VIP invitation to the Daily Mail RBS Schools finals day at Twickenham on March 31, 2010
- All nominees will receive a pin and certificate for their school in recognition of their contribution to the game
