Broadstreet Rugby Football Club Results -

Carl_SouthwellDespite being overwhelmingly dominant in the pack and particularly the back-row, Broadstreet RFC Firsts stuttered to a much wanted, but deceivingly close 36-5 win at home against Hereford RFC. Being 24-0 up at half-time, including a brace from Carl ‘Carlos’ Southwell, a multitude of misplaced passes and knock-ons contrived to deny Street registering the sort of scoreline that their superiority deserved against a spirited, but ultimately limited Hereford side. Street move back into second place in the league following Bromsgrove’s defeat at South Leicester RFC. Longton RFC scraped to another three point win to retain top spot, this time at Newport (Salop) RFC.

Similarly, the Seconds entertained Derby RFC Seconds in their first Midlands Invitation League match of the season and having totally monopolised possession with territorial advantage in the first half turned around just 17-7 up. The Seconds, however bulldozed the opposition in the second half to register a 57-19 win, with Chris Dodds’ darting runs featuring strongly.

The Thirds won 19-17 away against Newbold Seconds in the third round of league matches in Warwickshire League One.
