New Team Name required

bulldogWith the creation of the latest ‘4th Team’ it has become apparent that the team would like a more dynamic and appropriate pseudonym than ‘classics’. Most teams opt for something tough, something imposing to set their stall out as hard men.

The Team managers felt that there were a couple of options

"But which is better? Broadstreet Broncos or Broadstreet Bulldogs ? There's only one way to find out... FIGHT!" style of approach

Another was to run a poll on the site over the next few days. So we have canned the Harry Hill version and decided to run a poll So play your part in choosing the new name and make yourself heard in the comments below.

Ballistics - bullets etc
Badgers or Balisaurs (a type of long tailed badger, appropriate as i'm sure a number of the team will have a few streaks of white)
Barbarians
Brigadiers (something to do with military)
Bucks
Bulls
Bullocks!!! (castrated Bull)
Bumpkins
Bogey-men

Great list. The only obvious omissions that I can think of are Bombardiers (a rank used in the army instead of Corporal) and Bushwackers (Bushwhacking was a form of guerrilla warfare common during the American Revolutionary War).

I'd probably plump for Barbarians (but it's very common) or Bushwackers.

Don't have to start with B -
What about Broadstreet Tailenders
Can anyone come up with some names not as camp as a row of pink tents, thanks anyway Luke & Lee

Chris,
Camp! Somehow I can't imagine that the Baa-Baas consider their name of Barbarian FC to be camp. Camp might be Broadstreet Dandies, but let's not go there!

Chris/Luke/Dennis,
Here are some other suggestions: -
Raiders
Buccaneers
Chieftains
Desperados
Pirates
Braves
Eagles
Swashbucklers
Taverners
Outlaws.

I quite like Tailenders (lower-order batsmen), Bushwackers (guerrilla warfare makers) or Desperados (bold outlaws).

Chris,

I've since discovered that one of Rugby Lions' teams has the Tailenders moniker, so perhaps we should give that a miss.

You could go for something that suggests camaraderie such as Amigos as an antidote for more serious monikers...

Or Artillery as in 'heavy'....

The Lions 3rds were called Rugby Tailenders, they have not played for over 10 years so lets nick it!!!!
They have not got a 2nd team so I don't think they will need it.Outlaws? Desperados? will they guys need to get some cut off leather jackets and bandanas?

Chris,
The re-launched Lions website lists Tailenders as what would seem to be their third string. As they haven't even a second team, it's somewhat academic. I'm only trying to assist with some lateral thinking. At the end of the day it's YOUR call. The important thing is that, by all accounts, there is confidence that we can regularly field a fourth side. Great news!
