Broadstreet Sneak A Bonus Point Win Against Burton RFC.
FIRSTS.
Street sneaked a 30-24 away win this afternoon at the Peel Croft Stadium in a nip and tuck encounter to emerge with a try-scoring bonus point against a very committed Burton side that gained a solitary point for its endeavours through losing by only six points. With Street leading 20-10 at half time, the scoreboard ticked over with Burton taking the lead 24-23 after seventy minutes. A late try from Eddie 'Seventy' Simkiss sealed the win, keeping the Street in second place in the league. Teamsheet

Street just stuttered and spluttered. Steady, if not spectacular in the Forwards, exerting plenty of energy and exhibiting fine ball re-cycling and handling skills going through the phases, the Street pack just about edged it in the loose, with honours even in the lineouts and the set scrum. Occasional flashes of
individual brilliance from the Backs, including another brace from Brett Chatwinfollowing his recent double at South Leicester RFC, interspersed with some questionable decision-making that contributed to a failure to show any real fluency. However, as they say, a win is a win, particularly away from home. On reflection, it's difficult to imagine many teams scoring four tries against Burton at their headquarters, so credit where credit’s due, despite the frustration. On a positive note, making his debut for the First Team was Hooker Ciaran Pricewho put in a splendid all round performance after a shaky start in the first couple of scrums. Carlos who?
SECONDS.
Street Seconds won 37-3 away against Earlsdon RFC Seconds in Round One of the Warwickshire Second Team Cup. Reports suggest that Street were about twenty points short of what they deserved to score. Teamsheet
THIRDS.
In a game that was originally scheduled for Street Seconds, the Street’s Third Team honoured the fixture versus Dudley Kingswinford RFC Seconds/Development, but unfortunately came up just short, losing 27-31. Having dominated proceedings, the Thirds were unlucky not to make the long return journey celebrating a win. We will have to wait for a full report on proceedings to see if Manager John Brown's extra training sessions provided the intended benefit. Teamsheet
FOURTHS.
Including a number of new faces, Street Fourths performed excellently to lose narrowly 17-24 against Daventry RFC Thirds at Ivor Preece Field in front of the Street Faithful. Given time and a full fixture list, the side can be expected to develop and gel progressively. Teamsheet
