Following last Saturday’s welcome win against Burton RFC, Broadstreet RFC Coach Tom Hoines will no doubt be assessing his selection and game-plan options to achieve more cohesion to yield greater potency for this weekend’s crucial contest against Glasshouse Lane outfit, Kenilworth RFC.

Tom Hoines will have some difficult selection decisions to make in the Backs, with Full Back Andy ‘Tetley’ Tee returning following unavailability, whereas forgotten man, Scrum Half Mark Schropfer faces a Wednesday fitness test after five weeks out, that may culminate in a return to action via the bench. New signing Wing/Full Back Edward 'Junior' Mbaraga could also be considered after his Second Team appearance, following a spell on the side lines. Fly Half Cameron Pimlow has a niggling injury, but is expected to declare himself fit to play. However, it seems that Utility Back Jordan Simpson needs a couple more weeks’ recovery time.

In the Forwards, with Backrow Stewart Hendry not available, Second Row/Number 8 Nick ‘Pratty’ Pratt comes back into contention following unavailability. Hooker Carl Carlos’ Southwell and Number 8 Damian ‘Dago’ Taylor are not expected to be ready for this weekend, Tighthead Prop Nick Bingham is thought to be a week away and Demetri Theofanou, also a Tighthead, continues on the road to gaining match fitness.

Unfortunately, Hooker Luke Truslove has suffered a setback, delaying his return to playing regularly and Utility Forward Tom Greevy looks likely to miss-out with a spell on the injury list, denying him the opportunity of facing his brother Matt at the weekend.  Adding spice to the selection conundrums are Chris ‘Ziggy’ Zutic and Chris ‘Doddy’ Dood, irrepressible ‘Blond Assassins’ who continue to challenge for the back-row berths. Also steadily playing himself into contention is Hooker Dave 'Irv' Irvine.

Encouraging performances last weekend from a number of exciting new faces, including Number 8 Henry Mensah-Brown and the French duo of Scrum Half William Vedreire and Centre/Wing Pierre Dubuy may provide further rivalry for more senior slots in time to come.
