With a week’s rest helping the healing processes, a number of casualties now hope to return to First Team action this Saturday for the visit of Scunthorpe RFC. Coach Tom Hoines will probably have a number of options that wouldn’t have been available to him, if the aborted game against Silhillians RFC last weekend had actually taken place - Sils withdrew from the Warwickshire Cup five days beforehand.

Physio Tim Trevail has cleared Centre Jordan Simpson to play and both Wing/Full Back Tom Stokes and Centre Andrew Skene are hopeful of passing fitness tests on Thursday. With the benefit of a week off from competitive duties, Loosehead Prop Ben Dawes has shaken-off the niggles that were afflicting him. Tom Greevy, sidelined for three weeks, returned with a successful run-out for the Seconds against Leicester Lions RFC  last Saturday.

It’s not all good news though - Stewart Hendry’s availability is not confirmed and both Nick BinghamDamian Taylor have suffered setbacks. Nick had 23 minutes against Leicester Lions RFC and had to be stretchered-off with a different injury to the same leg. Damian ‘Dago’ Taylor has had to re-visit the specialist, but reckons another two weeks will see him OK.

Pushing for inclusion in the squad, following fine performances last weekend against Leicester Lions RFC, are new faces Fly Half Mark Rea, Tighthead Prop Blair Cooper and Wing Richard Smith. Openside Flanker Chris Zutic also had a stormer to merit consideration. Flanker Chris Dodd, who has been challenging for a place from the start of the season, is now available again following a minor op.
