Broadstreet RFC

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phil “Luke” Lucas, former Broadstreet prop forward who emigrated to South Africa some years ago. Phil was 59 years old  He died following a motor accident and illness. Larger-than-Life Phil was a pivotal member of the Broadstreet 1st team pack known as the “machine” which dominated forward play locally in the early 70’s.

Our thoughts and condolences go to both his family in South Africa, his wife Sandra, and 2 sons, Gareth and Craig. his sister Jean who, with her family are regular supporters of the club. Nephew Ben is a regular club player.
