Another Broadstreet Addition.
Signing of Coventry Kid increases competition for places.
Broadstreet RFC have secured the services of another young Coventry Kid as competition for places hots up across the board at Rugby Road. Winger Dom Ainsworth, a former 1st XV Captain at Bablake School has registered in time for the new season and will be representing the club for the first time in the pre-season fixture against Waunarlwydd RFC of South Wales this Saturday.
19 year old Dom currently attends Exeter University, representing the University rugby team in the National BUCS competitions. He is also a member of the current Warwickshire U20s team and has been a regular, prominent member for the county through the age group levels from the age of fourteen. As well as playing for his strong school team, Ainsworth also became involved with Old Coventrians RFC through the short-lived Coventry Colts scheme that was initiated a few seasons ago. Although that particular scheme only lasted one season, Dom remained at Old Coventrians and has since represented OCs at 1st XV level in Midlands 2.
At 6’3 and 14 ½ stone, Dom becomes the latest back with stats that would just as easily make them at home in the pack and, at this rate, the Street could go from being undoubtedly the smallest back-line in the division to one of the largest in the space of just one summer.
