Jon Duncan and Will Parkes commit to the Street.

Stratford RFC Full Back Jon Duncan and Kenilworth RFC Flanker Will Parkes have become the latest players to commit to Broadstreet for the 2011/12 season.

Jon-DuncanFull back Jon Duncan is a product of Stratford RFC M&Js and after a couple of successful seasons in Midlands 1 is now keen to try his hand at a higher level.  Throughout his school days Jon earned district and county honours all the way upto Warwickshire 20s last year, he is also a keen 7s player and represented Warwickshire in the National County 7s tournament which is held annually at Broadstreet

21 year old Jon is another sizeable addition to the back line standing at 6 ft 3’ and weighing in at over 14 stone.  Having made his debut in the weekend’s first pre-season fixture against Welsh Division 1 side Waunarlwydd RFC, he certainly looks like he has the talent to make an impact at a higher level on occasions  showing a decent turn of speed to cruise past his opposite man.

Will-ParkesOpenside Will Parkes is fairly well known to Broadstreet having been one of Kenilworth’s top players over the last couple of seasons as well as having the unfortunate privilege of being BFFs with our very own Ben Dawes.

Though born in the midlands, Will grew up in Berkshire and played his rugby for Bracknell RFC, gaining representative honours for Berkshire County from u14s through to Seniors.  During his school days Will also caught the attention of premiership side Harlequins RFC and became involved in their academy system where he represented both their U18’s and U21’s sides.

After leaving school Will moved to Coventry to attend Coventry University and quickly became first choice openside representing their 1st XV in the BUCS leagues, however he also chose to join Kenilworth RFC in order to continue to play Saturday mens league rugby. Over the last couple of seasons Will became an integral part of the K’s set up, however after their relegation last year he was keen to find a club which can provide a competitive level of rugby to match his ambitions.
