Are you a Coventry Uni Student or Warwick Uni Student and want to play rugby?

Broadstreet is extending the traditional warm welcome to returning students and Freshers attending either Coventry University or Warwick University who would like to continue the club game ethos to play rugby in Coventry on a Saturday.

Over the years Broadstreet has developed a good relationship with the local universities which has resulted in a steady stream of talented and enthusiastic players who have proved to be a vital cog in the on-field success of the club.  Even our current Club Chairman, John Warne, is one of a number of former University students who found us such a delightful bunch that he decided he could never leave! 

Last season we fielded a combination of 13 Coventry University and Warwick University students and Freshers across all of our four senior teams throughout the season, with a healthy proportion being given the opportunity to play National League 3 rugby with our 1st XV.

Training sessions are held from 6:45 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the season at our easy-to-find Binley Woods home close to Coventry's Eastern By-pass.  You can get directions to Broadstreet here.  If catching the local bus, it's the Stagecoach 86 from Coventry Bus Station in Pool Meadow (just down the road from the New Cathedral) leaving every 20 minutes at 05, 25 and 45 past the hour.  The journey takes 22 minutes to travel to the Oakdale Road stop to then walk back 250 metres to Broadstreet Rugby Club.  You will be most welcome.

For those who would like to ‘have a go’ with our 1st XV but are unsure if you could slot in straight away, then Broadstreet’s competitive 2nd team play to a high standard against the best of the other 2nd tier sides across the whole Midlands region.

For those more interested in the social atmosphere of a thriving rugby club, then the Beavers (3rds) and Badgers (4ths) provide a good dose of banter along with a full season of local rugby.   

The Broadstreet Colts (U19s) also provide an opportunity for Freshers to have one more season of age-group Rugby before they have to step up to full senior level.
