Online Grant Finder The RFU has entered into a partnership with the Idox Group to provide an online grant finder for members. The system gives access to a database of over 100,000 grant possibilities available from a myriad of funding groups including opportunities for both capital and revenue projects. Researchers at the Idox Group maintain the database and ensure that any potential new funding partners are promptly identified and uploaded. If used correctly the grant finder will be of benefit to many of the RFU's clubs and Constituent Bodies. After a simple registration process, the system is extremely easy to use and can be found at www.rfu.com/grantfinder <http://email.rfumail.com/re?l=juhtsyI5jj0ws0I5> . The RFU is keen to enhance and refine the system in the future so all feedback should be directed to Ted Mitchell, Funding & Facilities Manager tedmitchell@rfu.com <mailto:tedmitchell@rfu.com?Subject=Grassroots:GrantfinderEnquiry>

Player Development Awards Pilot Clubs in the South West and Midlands in addition to an Academy EPDG and a CB School of Rugby are piloting an innovative scheme to replace the RFU Proficiency Awards. The scheme has been designed, in conjunction with RFU Coach and Player Department, by Ronnie Heath and Martin Papworth of Createdevelopment who have been involved in developing similar resources within education. The scheme is player driven and encourages players aged six to 17 to self reflect and set their own targets for development using an online resource, which is monitored and negotiated with their club coaches, parents and teachers. The personal development of the player is of the greatest importance with technical and tactical development sitting alongside. The statements have been carefully graded with eight levels and incremental degrees of complexity. There is a good deal of flexibility within the scheme which enables clubs to provide their own awards in addition to the more detailed criteria of the RFU Award. The clubs involved in the pilot are Gordano RFC, Burton RFC, Stourbridge RFC, and Bristol EPDG (Bronze group)
The scheme will be monitored and evaluated over the next 18 months before being considered for national roll out. Join the Rugby Runners Team!
