Prime Minister Gordon Brown believes England will stage "a tournament to remember" when the RFU hosts the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The IRB Council today backed the RFU's bid to stage the world's third largest sporting event. Wally Holmes another of the great characters of Warwickshire Rugby Football who have passed on recently. There are only family flowers with donations to the RFU Injured Players Charity Monday 20th April at Stockingford Congregational Church, Croft Road, Nuneaton at 3.30pm followed by a private cremation and thereafter at Nuneaton Rugby Club. Club ties may be worn. Those unable to attend church are welcome to attend the Rugby Club from approximately 5pm.
Broadstreet’s Youth Rugby setup has been radically changed for next season and former head coach, Bob Harcourt has been asked to head up this departure from the status quo. The highly qualified and experienced Harcourt who is also coaches with Warwickshire RFU Under 20’s squad will take up the challenge immediately and will start to plan Broadstreet’s new Youth Structure. Encompassed in the scheme is Broadstreet’s Under 16’s, Under 17’s and Colts squads with Harcourt taking an umbrella and hands?on role over all three squads.
