BROADSTREET V
This was a bleak day with lots of rain. The club was bustling, with three sides playing after the long holiday break, and the under 13 sides both playing and entertaining the crowd pre-match.
Broadstreet, who were narrowly
defeated by
Tom Greevy for ‘Street, was over the line from a loose maul, two minutes from kick-off. Score 5-0.
On ten minutes, Broadstreet went to town with Greevy scoring again from a fumbled ball. ‘Street’s Thatcher, dummying the opposing backs, scored a touchdown two minutes later. Richards converted both. Score after 13 minutes, and at half time, 19-3.
Richards kicked two penalties in the second half, on twenty
one, and thirty minutes. Score 25-3. The game
was at a stalemate in wet slippery conditions, with neither side managing to
break through until five minutes into extra time. After some very mixed play,
Ces Benn,
