Its getting very close to the semi finals of the Daily Mail RBS Schools Competition 2010/11 which we are proud to announce the semi finals of which are being played here in Coventry at Broadstreet RFC. School rugby teams are able to enter teams at Under 15's level and Under 18's level with the semi finals played here at the Ivor Preece Field home of Broadstreet RFC, leading on to the finals which are played at the RFU's Twickenham headquaters.

Mr Philip Gostling (Head of Physical Education and Head of Rugby) at The Perse Upper School which has a strong sporting tradition and a commitment to 'Sport for All' and 'Sporting Excellence'.
The Perse school's main sports are Cricket, Hockey, Netball, Rugby and Tennis. From Years 7 to 9, pupils are split into ability groups, where they are coached by specialists and encouraged to progress through the groups. By Year 10 options are introduced and given to those pupils who wish not to participate in the main sport for the term. Once the pupils enter Year 11 and Sixth Form they are offered a games option and have the freedom to choose.
The RGS has a proud history and tradition of sporting provision, whether it is for the elite athlete or the beginner. Sport plays a major part in the curricular, extra curricular and social life of the school.
Sport at the Royal Grammar School fosters boys of all abilities, all of which are equally important to us. The school’s wide range of sporting activities includes inter-school matches, country and national competitions.

The School believes that as many boys as possible should have an opportunity to represent the School at rugby. To this end Truro turns out eleven senior teams from the age of twelve. These teams play most Saturdays and Wednesdays in the Autumn Term

A last minute three-pointer from George Fossey settled a nail-biting encounter against Beaufort Community School on Wednesday 9th February. After a pleasing first half performance, LGS went in to the break 19-12 in front, but a score in the corner for Beaufort and the superbly struck conversion meant the game was all square with 20 minutes remaining. Both teams had chances to take the lead but it took the final kick of the game to separate the sides.

Two of Oakham’s greatest recent sportsmen current England Captain “Lewis Moody got in touch as soon as he heard that we’d won and said the result was brilliant” said Oakham’s Director of Rugby Ian Smith “and I took a phone call from Stuart Broad’s step father. He was driving Stuart to the airport as he was about to depart with England to take part in the Cricket World Cup and Stuart shouted out ‘fantastic news’.
Sport and Physical Education play a central role in life at Old Swinford Hospital. They are especially proud of the performance of their teams on the national and even international stage, students are encouraged to develop their talents at all levels.

Wilmslow High School was awarded Specialist Sports College status in September of 2003. After their official launch in January 2004 they set to work delivering a four year development plan that provides the framework for their specialism.
