The ELV's are changing the game, an improvement or not

As a viewer of the game, no longer a player I can see some improvements to the game with the introduction of the ELV's but not many.

The recent international between Ireland and England was a kicking farce with it being more a game of Tennis at times than rugby.

I also must have missed the law change which allowed the scrum halfs to put the ball into the scrum, rugby league style not just crooked but in the second rows feet.

Have these law changes improved the game for players but the pulling down of mauls was banned during the late 70's early 80's due to it being dangerous, has it become less dangerous now ?
Ruck noun. (si). Informal, impromptu get together for forwards and a few close friends
