National League Rugby Training Commences.
Broadstreet’s 2014-15 Pre-Season Starts on Tuesday 1st July 2014.
Preparations for Street’s 2014-15 first season back in National Two North since 2009-10 get under way with the commencement of training on Tuesday 1st July writes Lee Stanton. The session will start at 19:00 prompt at the Ivor Preece Field Rugby Ground in Binley Woods with all existing players expected to attend. Newcomers are most welcome - please present yourself to the Director of Rugby, Paul Harcourt, or the Head Coach, Lee Cassell, upon arrival. Paul can also be contacted at while Lee is contactable at This and subsequent sessions, which will be planned and controlled by Lee and Sports Therapist Tom Hale, will initially aim to enhance player participation, improve fitness, develop skills and build team spirit. The sessions through to the season’s start on 6th September will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with additional Saturday morning sessions during July. Progressively, the focus of sessions will, on a personal note, increase strength, improve stamina, broaden skill sets and fine tune physical conditioning.
Street will meet up with Coventry Rugby at the Butts Park Arena on 9th August for an 11:00 am kick-off of a ‘conditioning’ match, the structure of which is to be confirmed, but may well take the form of alternating periods of possession, for planned moves for both sides to be practiced. To follow there will be a barbecue and Coventry Bears rugby league match versus Eastmoor Dragons at 2:30 pm..

On 15th and 16th August, Street will be holding a training camp for first team contenders using Bath Rugby's facilities at Farleigh House, in which former Coventry, England and British Lions player, Danny Grewcock will assist with the coaching. The attendees will also take in the Bath Rugby versus the Scarlets match at 3:00 pm on the Saturday afternoon..
On Saturday 30th August Street will welcome Oxford Harlequins RFC of National League Three South West. to the Ivor Preece Field Rugby Ground for a practice match kicking off at 3:00 pm.
