Broadstreet RFC today announced four new signings as preparation for the 2017/18 season in National Two South continues.
James MoretonProp Chris Hanley, second row James Moreton, back row James Newman and scrum half James Adams have all committed to the club for next year
Hanley has been a lynch pin of the strong Sutton Coldfield pack for 14 seasons and is looking forward to testing himself against the front rows at national two level.
Moreton joins us after 3 seasons in the Nuneaton second row where he has been playing rugby since the age of 5. James has represented Warwickshire at every level since the age of 15 and been in the senior team for the last 3 seasons.
Newman leaves South Leicester RFC to move to the Street and after his first season at National two level in the North is looking forward to showing his strong ball carrying skills in the South.
Adams joins from Hartpury College and has played at National One (Cambridge RFC), National two ( Lydney RFC) and Old Patesians (National 3). He has represented Cambridgeshire at U20 and senior level and now that his studies are over can’t wait to show Broadstreet’s faithful fans what he can do.
Head Coach, Paul Hurst, is thrilled with his new recruits. “We have worked hard over the summer to recruit quality players that will buy into #oneclub culture we are trying to build’ says Hurst. “once again we have recruited good young players and mixed this with a bit of experience and I can’t wait to see the new lads at our first training session on the 4th July”.
More signings will follow with a number of players coming training to see the club and be assessed by the coaching staff and Hurst has yet to finalise his arrangements with Coventry RFC and Nottingham RFC for this season after a very fruitful relationship last year and to develop the new exciting prospect of loan players from the Wasps academy.
