With seven weeks to prepare for the first scheduled pre-season practice match for the 1st XV against Waunarlwydd RFC of South Wales, pre-season training gets off the ground on Tuesday 5th July 2011.
Broadstreet Rugby Club welcomes players of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities – so if you have the urge to play, please come along and register your interest. Those players looking to just dip their toes in the water and perhaps play social rugby are as welcome as anyone wanting to really test themselves competing in National League Rugby.
Anyone new to the Street wishing to get involved at any level should make themselves known to Tom Hoines (Head Coach) or Nick Thatcher (Club Captain) or Luke Truslove (Club Vice-Captain) on arrival. Would ALL existing Seniors provide Tom Hoines with their email address and mobile phone number. Tom can be contacted on t.hoines@yahoo.com or tomhoines@broadstreet-rugby.co.uk or 07841 779 301.
Fitness, skills and organisation training commences on Tuesday 5th July at 6:45 pm for a 7:00 pm start. As usual, there will be Tuesday and Thursday training sessions every week through the pre-season and season proper at the Ivor Preece Field Rugby Ground.
The 2011/12 season is likely to be as challenging as last season in National 3 Midlands with six new opponents, including some ambitious promoted clubs and some experience-hardened local sides that have been relegated from Level Four, coming in to make the new league particularly competitive.
Broadstreet 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, U19s Colts and U17s Colts each have a full, varied and demanding fixture list confirmed, so all players are urged to prepare as much as they personally feel comfortable with for the battles ahead.
