Ahead of the new season, Wasps are pleased to announce that we will be holding open trials for our Academy U16 and U18 groups in Warwickshire.

The trials, to be held on August 30th (U16) and August 31st (U18) at King Henry VIII in Coventry, will be open to all players who live, go to school or play club rugby in the Unitary Authorities of Coventry, Rugby, North Warks and Nuneaton & Bedworth.  

The U16 group trial will be for those players entering Year 11 at school in September 2016, and the U18 (to include U17 players) for those players entering either Year 12 or 13 in September 2016

The sessions will be a combination of physical profiling alongside game play, to assess whether each player has the characteristics and potential to progress within an elite rugby pathway.

With this in mind and whilst it is an open process, we would ask you to be mindful of the following criteria before applying. We are looking for young players who: 

- Are regularly stand out performers in their school or club teams

- Are highly talented in other sports with cross over to rugby

- Have physical talents, size, speed, strength, agility

- Are highly motivated and driven, with an enthusiasm for hard work
