Broadstreet RFC Results and Local Roundup – Week 9.
Broadstreet Rugby Club comprehensively beaten by Longton.
Broadstreet RFC for the second week running get nothing from their National League 3 Midlands fixture. Street are out-gunned by Longton RFC in a 22-34 home defeat at the Ivor Preece Field Rugby Ground, with a scoreline that probably most observers would say flatters the Street. Longton are significantly better in most aspects of the game and make the return journey to the Potteries buoyed by the full five point win and a return to the top of the league table. It can be reasoned that Street’s early season table-topping flourish has been misleading and may have been influenced by the vagaries of the fixture list combined with the slow start of some of the emerging contenders. |
Street Seconds versus Nuneaton Old Edwardians called-off by NOEs on Thursday night.
For the second week in succession Street Seconds are left without a game as Nuneaton Old Edwardians RFC Seconds cancel today's Midlands Invitation Premiership League fixture leaving a great number of extremely frustrated souls high and dry. |
Street Beavers secure excellent win against Stratford
Broadstreet Thirds, The Beavers make the trip to Peacecroft to face Stratford-upon-Avon RFC Seconds and win handsomely 33-16 in a Warwickshire League 1 fixture. |
Street Badgers slip-up at Oadby.

Broadstreet RFC Colts allow Nuneaton to come back in the second half.
Street Colts host division leaders Nuneaton RFC Colts in the Warwickshire Under 19s Merit League and despite a strong first half showing don't do enough in the second period to justify a win. This blowing hot and cold seems to be a regular feature this season and this week it leads to a narrow 20-27 home defeat. |
