BroadstreetRugby Club Coventry with the objective of replicating the M&J’s success and ultimately to move the standard of senior rugby up a notch, the club has appointed Paul Harcourt as its Director of Rugby whose brief is to return the club to its community based roots in its Coventry and Warwickshire heartland. Paul, who came through the very same Broadstreet M&J system a number of years ago, fully shares the belief in these core values and has been at pains to ensure that the club’s new coaching and management team share the same conviction.
Recruited as Head Coach is Lee Cassell, from Old Wheatleyans RFC, a former Nuneaton RFC and Kenilworth RFC fly half.
Experienced Hooker and Coventry lad Stewart Pearl joins from Stourbridge RFC to be Player/Coach. Stewart has played for Rugby Lions RFC, Coventry RFC, Birmingham & Solihull RFC, Cambridge RFC, Worcester Warriors RFC and Plymouth Albion RFC.
Warwickshire Under 20s coach Paul Hurst steps up to Forwards Coach having spent a couple of seasons back at Street after gaining senior coaching experience with Bedworth RFC.
John Manson and Steve Tucker, both from Rugby, become Team Managers responsible for player welfare and match preparation along with team administration.
Former Club Coach, Bob Harcourt continues as rugby and coaching advisor.
This season 2013 - 2014 sees Broadstreet playing at level 4 of the rfu structure in the National League II North
